We had a lovely time this afternoon celebrating the end of the year with our current Foundation students and several students who have progressed to year one and beyond - some are now Durham graduates! Former students from across a number of departments came to pass on their wisdom of moving up to year one, including advice about module choice, being strategic, asking questions, getting involved in societies and generally enjoying it (while working very hard, obviously!).
We also had several activities relating to transitioning from Foundation to year one, including a talk for students in heritage related subjects from staff in the Archaeology Dept. and a chat with a Theology graduate who works in the heritage sector and at Durham Cathedral. It was lovely to hear about the Ice & Fire rescue archaeology project on Eston Hills that is run by former Foundation student Adam Mead. There are opportunities for students (and anyone else) to get involved. Lots of former Foundation students (and staff) have been involved in the past.
