A study involving Dr Monique Botha from our Department of Psychology has found that identity distress (where someone has difficulty forming a cohesive sense of identity) is at the heart of higher rates of poor mental health experienced by autistic people.

The study could help develop more effective ways to improve mental health outcomes for autistic people.
