It was wonderful to welcome alumnus .run and friends back to Chad’s last night! They joined us at our PG Priority Formal last night and enjoyed an opportunity reminisce about happy times in College, particularly as part of We loved having them with us!

Last night members of the SCR went along to the Elm Tree Quiz! A great night was had by all and this newbie team of mathematicians, geographers, historians and literary experts managed a very respectable 3rd place 🥉 against a strong field. Thanks to SCR Social Secretary, Andrew Pearson, for organising it, we are looking forward to doing it again soon!

It’s was great to welcome the Chair of Council, Caroline Johnstone, to Chad’s yesterday to meet with staff and students. We talked about everything from buildings, estates and accessibility, to widening access and volunteering and, of course, student experience!

As the University begins thinking about its next 10 year strategy, it was a particular pleasure to share with Caroline the progress we have made with our own strategy over the last 10 years and aspects of our plans for the future of St Chad’s.

It was a joy to welcome Mark and Helen from to College for our Fashion Show Formal.

Team Solan is a local cancer support charity based in Spennymoor that does incredible work supporting children, adults and families with practical, emotional and financial support around cancer and bereavement.

We are absolutely delighted that will support this brilliant County Durham charity and we are looking forward to working with them over the coming months!

Our JCR, MCR and SCR are at the heart of College life and we are so grateful for everything our Presidents do! Today they are hosting an Inter-Common Room Tea Party in the Quad from 2pm. It’s a great opportunity to take a break from studies, meet new people and enjoy good company. With cake! It’s open to everyone and they would love to see you there! 💚

Fantastic to welcome a number of our College Tutors to College tonight for our termly get-together, training, Evensong and a Formal. They support students throughout the year so it is great to be able to thank them for all they do!
