Greenspace was created in 2010 to bring together all of Durham University’s environmental plans, policies and procedures. Greenspace is managed by the University's Energy and Sustainability Team, who coordinate environmental initiatives across the University with the help of Environment Champions, Student Representatives and Steering Groups. It has been an incredible journey: from first launching

the Green Move Out in 2005 and becoming Fairtrade certified in 2007, to more recently achieving the Platinum Eco Campus award in 2020. https://sway.office.com/el6Q6bD09G3gy8SD?ref=Link&loc=mysways

💚 Green Move Out is back! 💚

What is Green Move Out?
The Green Move Out scheme started out in just one college in 2005. It has run every year since, growing to include all colleges and students living out in the wider community.
We deliver a purple bag to each of our students and ask they fill it unwanted or unused items. These items are then sorted and donated to local charities.

Which items can be donated?
Please fill your purple bag with:
• Clean clothing
• Paired shoes
• Books
• Clean, working electrical items
• Clean pots and pans
• Clean crockery and cutlery (no sharp knives)
• Shelf stable, un-opened food items (pasta, rice, tins etc.)

Visit our website or SharePoint site to for full details.
