Greenspace was created in 2010 to bring together all of Durham University’s environmental plans, policies and procedures. Greenspace is managed by the University's Energy and Sustainability Team, who coordinate environmental initiatives across the University with the help of Environment Champions, Student Representatives and Steering Groups. It has been an incredible journey: from first launching

🥳 Greenspace Festival 2026 🥳

Join the Greenspace team as we celebrate all things sustainability and biodiversity at Fountains Hall, Grey College, on Wednesday 17 June from 11:00 – 15:30 🎊

The Festival will feature a range of stallholders and speakers, from student societies and academics to our external partners from a from a range of fields. And there will be tasty vegan and gluten-free food provided by The Nook 🍰

You’ll also find a pre-loved clothing sale from St Aidan’s Wardrobe and free bicycle repairs from Recyke ya Bike 🚴‍♀️

The event is free. All Durham University staff and students are welcome as well as our neighbours in the local community and beyond💚
