‘The Woodplayers’ are Collingwood’s resident Theatre Company. The Woodplayers put on all Collingwood’s dramatic performances which consists of the Winter Play and Showcase, Epiphany term Musical and two Summer Plays. The Collingwood Woodplayers are excited to announce their Easter term show: Harold Pinter’s The Birthday Party.

Woodplayers’ staging of Pinter’s first full-length play encloses the audience within a suffocating space where mundane routine slowly curdles into menace. As two strangers arrive and close in on Stanley, the play’s fragmented dialogue and oppressive staging blur the line between social ritual and psychological interrogation. Set in a cramped boarding house, The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter unfolds in the round.

Content warning: this play contains the depiction of sexual activity and physical violence.

The show will be performed in The Collingwood Arts Centre on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 June 2026.

Woodplayers are opening for the 26/27 Exec! Want to continue our Legacy?! To apply, submit a manifesto to the form linked in our bio, where an example manifesto can be found. An ONLINE AGM will take place running from 17th - 20th March. All members of Woodplayers and those who have been involved with Woodplayers during their university experience can vote.

*Deadline for the manifesto is Monday 16th March
