Hola a tod@s!

The time has come to hand over our positions for the next coming year but don’t worry, we still have some events up our sleeve for the rest of term! As weird as this year has been, we have loved being your Hispanic Soc Exec and hope that you have enjoyed our events even if all of them (so far ... 😏) have been online! Our personal favourite was our live DJ event! 💃

If you’re interested in applying to be part of the Hispanic Society Exec, then please prepare a manifesto outlining why you would like the position, why it would suit you and what you would like to bring to the society next year (such as ideas on events). Obviously this year has been slightly different (thank you COVID) but some of our typical events in normal times have been tequila Thursdays, language cafes, Tapas nights and film screenings. Deadline for submission will be 7 June. Please send your applications through a Facebook message or to our email address [email protected]

Below you will find short descriptions on the roles available and what they entail. Please feel free to contact us (on Instagram or Facebook) if you would like any further information and watch out for our social media stories for first hand testimonies from current exec!

Hispanic Society Exec Positions:

President - Head of the society, you will work closely with all other exec roles to help run social media, organise AGMs and come up with, plan and carry out events. You will also oversee all paperwork. You ensure all other exec members are fulfilling their roles and are the main point of contact for enquiries.

Vice-President - Assist the president and be prepared to take over if necessary. Help with the paperwork, respond to external messages and generally support the President in running the events.

Secretary - Take minutes of the meetings, help in the planning of events and be on hand to help other exec members when necessary.

Treasurer - In charge of the money of the society, payments and other reimbursements. Works closely with the President, Vice-President and Social Sec to make sure that the society is not making losses and will reimburse costs of events.

Social Secretary - In charge of coming up with original events, helping to fill out paper work and aiding in advertising through social media. Be present for the running of events.
