🌿 Next Week is … Mental Health Awareness Week
🌿 12–19th May 2025
🌿Theme: Community
At WCG, we know that being part of a safe, supportive and connected community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing 💚. That’s why we’re proud to be supporting by creating spaces where our staff and students feel heard, included and never alone.
Here’s how we’re celebrating and supporting mental health across our colleges:
✨ Mental Health Stalls – Over 70 amazing external organisations will be visiting all six WCG colleges to chat with students and staff. From ROSA, MIND, Kooth, NACOA, Warwickshire Pride, YSS, South Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind (SWW Mind) , NHS Shoutreach, Samaritans, Heathwatch , SOS Silence of Su***de, Talking Therapies, Compass… and so much more.
📚Tutorials & Talks – A ‘Communities’ themed tutorial will be delivered during sessions by our Personal Learner Advisors and tutors. Plus, staff can join an online awareness session with Jo from MIND and test their knowledge with a fun ‘Community’ quiz!
🎨 Celebrating Creativity – Check out this year’s beautiful MHAW artwork, ‘Community’, by Jo Jo George (L3 Ext Dip Art & Design – Visual Communication), proudly displayed in our college libraries.
💬 Start a Conversation. Talking about mental health matters. Whether it’s a quick chat or a deep conversation, your words can make a difference. Let's break the stigma and look out for one another.
