☁️ FINAL DAY TO VOTE ☁️

Today is your last chance to have your say in who will be representing your opportunities within the Guild next year! Voting closes at 4PM today so head to the Guild website now to have your say. I strongly believe that I am the most experienced and qualified candidate for the role due to my extensive experience of society life at Exeter. A vote for me is a vote for safety, support and inclusion for all of us, on both our campuses. If not now, Wen 💚

Through communication with students on what they want, I will use my skills to achieve change on our campuses. Here are just some of the things I will do if you vote for me to be your VP Opportunities in this week's elections. If not now, Wen ☁️💚

[ALT IMAGE TEXT: A mint green background with clouds on it and a cloud graphic saying 'If not now...Wen'. The text reads as follows]

What Will I Do?
- Provide all societies with a support network and training for member protection/safeguarding at events
- Further the Guild's efforts to prevent drink spiking
- Regulate the presence of one sober committee member at society events
- Continue putting pressure on the university about hate speech on campus
- Encourage societies to introduce a reduced membership fee for lower commitment inclusion in societies
- Provide support to students who cannot financially afford to take part in societies or who have caring or working responsibilities

In case you missed the debate last week, here's a quick summary of what went on and what the other candidates and I would do if elected to the role 💚

The first of the Guild Election debates took place on Wednesday 9 March with the five candidates running for VP Opportunities. The debate, hosted by XpressionFM, saw Izzie Dyer, Mehreen Nasir, Kaif Ur Rahman, Johna Aswan Selva, and Lowenna Wagstaff speak on a variety of issues such as accessibility....

Read more about why I am so committed to making change happen below. As your VP Opportunities I will ensure safety, support and inclusion for everyone on our campuses. Vote for me this coming elections week to make change happen. If not now, Wen. ☁️💚

Why Me?
As a student from a low-income background I understand some of the barriers that can be in place when trying to get involved with employment opportunities and societies (e.g. membership fees and time commitment). I am committed to listening to others' experiences and working with societies to cater for these students' needs.

Having experienced sexual harassment in Exeter I am incredibly concerned by the safety issues on campus. As such I will put pressure on those in power to ensure that sufficient support is in place and that we can all feel safe on a campus that is meant for us.

About Me:
Hi, I'm Wen (she/her) and I'm a 21 year old English and Drama student from Cornwall!

At Exeter I have been involved with a number of academic and theatre societies, holding committee positions, taking part in 16 society productions, and executive producing its largest and oldest theatre society.

As a natural leader obsessed with organisation I am passionate about making projects happen, always ready to tackle them with a huge smile and their own emoji-coded Notion page;)

As your next VP Opportunities I will apply this same passion to the role to best support each of you in broadening and making the most of what is available to you.
