Continuing our collaboration with ExMun, we are hosting an Absurd Quiz Night
After a more serious debate on the previous day, we feel like we needed some fun time as well, so we have prepared some of the weirdest questions you probably have never thought about.

You can play in teams or individually. Make sure to bring along a pen and paper or be ready to take notes on your phone and let the competition begin!!

Register your interest on our fixr: https://fixr.co/event/absurd-quiz-night-tickets-610423560

We are happy to announce that in honour of the International Day of Eliminating Violence Against Women our next debate will be in collaboration with ExMun!

22nd November | 6.30-9.00pm| Bateman Lecture Theatre

https://fixr.co/event/exmun-x-unwomen-violence-against-women-debate-tickets-402150936

According to the UN, nearly 1 in 3 women have been abused in their life time, and through lack of reporting and adequate responses from the international community, many of our most vulnerable populations suffer in silence.

Together we will be addressing such issues as intimate partner violence, FGM, poverty, and the impacts Covid19 has had in exacerbating domestic abuse. We hope to create resolutions which will address this topic with the respect and concrete action it deserves.

As always it is important to remind everyone that as a Model United Nations Society we are not debating our own perspectives, and emphasis will be put on acknowledging (and in some cases refuting) the diversity of global stances involved.

I will send out a guide via our newsletter to members soon so that everyone will be well acquainted with this serious issue. If you are not part of the society but still want to come, message us and we can send you the documents.
And since this is a potentially triggering area of diplomacy our Welfare Officer will be on hand at all times.

Any questions? Please let us know!

See you all there!

Summer is here, term is almost over and that means another year is coming to an end

In the name of the current committee, we want to thank all of you for your support and patience while we tried to figure out how this works, work around covid and tried to deliver the best we can. We had a blast this year and can't wait to see what the society has got in plan for next
We also want to wish the new committee all the best. We know you're going to be awesome

Lastly, we want to note that our social media and email will be monitored over the summer, but not as regularly as during term. So please be patient with us if we take a little longer to respond

Have a great summer everybody, relax and take a break and hopefully you all return next year with fresh energy and determination to smash patriarchy and fight for equality!!💙💙💙
