Have you downloaded the SafeZone app?

It's a free app that enables us to help you if you need assistance whilst on campus.

Once you download and sign in to SafeZone, you will be able to make contact with the security team whenever you’re on campus.

• With live chat and one-button assistance requests you don't need to remember phone numbers.
• You can let the security team know if you’re working somewhere alone or out of regular hours.
• In the event of an emergency, we’ll be able to keep you updated, via text messages, should you need to be aware of any vital location-based information.
• Once installed if you press Emergency, Help or First aid, your location will be sent to relevant staff on campus. You'll then be kept updated, via text messages, and relevant information relating to your emergency.

To download the app go to: www.safezoneapp.com and follow the instructions for your device.

Surf therapy is emerging as one of the most exciting areas of mental health research, combining the benefits of physical activity, blue spaces, and social connection to support wellbeing.

In the latest State of the Earth podcast, Sophie Crossley is joined by Nick Knowles, a health and wellbeing researcher at the University. They chat about how surf therapy differs from the benefits of recreational surfing, who can benefit the most, the challenges facing surf therapy research and the future of blue health and surf therapy.

Heading out to the beach, countryside or a picnic spot? ☀️🌿
Help protect our green spaces by keeping wildfire safety in mind:

🚗 Avoid parking on dry grass
🗑️ Take all litter home with you
🍾 Don't leave bottles or cans behind
🔥 Leave BBQs and campfires at home in dry weather
🚭 Dispose of ci******es responsibly

If you see signs of a wildfire, get to a safe location and call 999 immediately and ask for the fire service.
