ExMUN is a prestigious student society at Exeter offering its members weekly debates and workshops, a packed conference schedule (where we send delegates to some of the best Model United Nations conferences around the globe), a forum to mix with like-minded students with an avid interest in international relations and current affairs and last but certainly not least our amazing socials and intramural teams.

Last but definitely not least, no ExMUN committee would be complete without our most important member. Skog the Bear 💙

A veteran of the MUN circuit and proud representative of Sweden, Skog has travelled further than most delegates, attended countless conferences and somehow made more friends across the MUN community than the rest of us combined. From weekly debates to beach days, there is rarely an ExMUN adventure where Skog isn’t involved.

When he is not representing ExMUN abroad, Skog can be found hanging out with his friends in the Law Library, making appearances at socials or being subjected to questionable photos. His greatest achievement this year was seeing everyone grow. His greatest weakness, despite his attempts to prove otherwise, is still water.

Skog has also had to deal with the unfortunate rise of several fake Skogs, but remains confident that there is only one true icon. He’s looking forward to meeting all the new members, making even more friends across the MUN circuit and continuing his reign as the true king of ExMUN.

We’re delighted to have Skog back for another year of adventures! We can’t wait to see the weird and unusual situations he finds himself in. 💙

Introducing Ollie Robson, our President!

Having served as ExMUN’s Internal Training Officer last year, Ollie is no stranger to the parts that keep the society going. As President, he’ll be responsible for overseeing the committee, helping everything run smoothly, and making sure that ExMUN remains a place where everyone can have a good time.

Ollie has already thrown himself into every corner of MUN, from chairing the Cuban Missile Crisis debate to backrooming Crisis committees. While also somehow finding time to become ExMUN’s fastest speaker.

Outside of MUN, he can be found at the Stoke Arms playing darts, or at home playing Minecraft, where his 400+ hours of experience has officially qualified him as an expert.

A self-proclaimed lover PowerPoint Night, murder mysteries and many trips to the pub, Ollie is looking forward to leading ExMUN through another year of debates, conferences and questionable social decisions. He also assures us that pesto pasta and pizza remain acceptable substitutes for learning how to cook. We have decided not to ask any further questions about this…

We’re incredibly excited to have Ollie leading the society this year and can’t wait for another successful year of ExMUN! 💙

Introducing Connor Woodsford, our Vice President!

After a year as a Press and Publicity Officer, Connor is taking on a new role as Vice President. Working alongside the President and the rest of the committee, he’ll be making sure ExMUN runs smoothly. The Vice President also has the traditional role of a Welfare Officer, so whether you need someone to talk to, have a question about the society or just need a friendly face to turn to, Connor is always there to help.

As a History student with an interest in all things Cold War related, Connor clearly enjoys finding ways to bring historical references into conversation. His proudest MUN achievement so far was helping ExMUN win the Best Large Delegation award at BathMUN 2025, although fitting fourteen Cuban leader quotes into one Drinks and Diplomacy debate may be a close second.

Outside of ExMUN, Connor can be found canoeing down the River Exe in search of a pint, enjoying the sights of Exeter or taking beach ball games too seriously. He also argues that there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on the Earth, so there is always something to debate him on.

We’re delighted to have Connor taking on the role of Vice President this year, and we can’t wait to see how many quotes he can fit into a future Drinks and Diplomacy debate. 💙

Now introducing Isabel Williscroft, our Treasurer!

As Treasurer, Isabel is responsible for keeping ExMUN’s finances in order and making sure our events remain affordable and that our money is being well spent.

A Politics and International Relations student, having attended three conferences already, Isabel is no stranger to MUN, as well as having represented some particularly controversial countries. She’s looking forward to bringing this experience to committee this year and making sure everyone can get involved in ExMUN without breaking the bank.

Outside of MUN, Isabel enjoys reading both fiction and non-fiction and trying some new and creative things. She’s equally happy with a cosy evening in or joining everyone for a post-debate pizza. (Ideally after a successful hunt for Napoleon the campus cat!)

We’re delighted to have Isabel as our treasurer this year, and to see what she gets up to! 💙

Next to be introduced is Sophie Norcott, our General Secretary!

As General Secretary, Sophie is responsible for keeping ExMUN running behind the scenes, from booking rooms to making sure everyone has access to the incredible society Stash. Essentially if anything needs organising, Sophie is the person to ask.

As an International Relations student, Sophie has already thrown herself into the world of MUN, attending four conferences this year and spending a concerning amount of time representing Russia in DISEC. Her experience has included everything from weapon non-proliferation to defending Russia’s position involving bioweapons and thousands of sheep in Utah.

Outside of MUN, Sophie can be found at the Ram most likely drinking vodka and eating some post-debate garlic bread. When she’s not trying to keep everything in order, she will be discussing politics, recommending books, or maybe both at the same time!

We’re incredibly excited to have Sophie as our General Secretary this year, and we can’t wait to see what she gets up to. Although we may have to keep her away from any American sheep. 💙

Next up is Madelaine Wood, our Social Secretary!

As Social Secretary, Maddie is responsible for making sure there is more to ExMUN than just debates. She’ll be working to bring everyone together and create socials where friendships are made.

A third year Psychology student, Maddie joined ExMUN last year and quickly became hooked. Between developing her public speaking skills, going to conferences and discovering just how much wine can be consumed after a debate, she has definitely made the most of her time in the society so far!

When she’s not at ExMUN, Maddie can be found sitting in a pub garden, heading down to Exmouth, or trying to understand the concerning things people have chosen to reveal at Powerpoint night

She’s particularly looking forward to building on the foundations of what makes ExMUN so special, and to create opportunities for everyone to have a good time along the way.

We’re so excited to have Maddie as our Social Secretary this year, and can’t wait to see what she has in store for everyone! 💙

Introducing Lucie Allen, one of our Press and Publicity Officers!

As a Press and Publicity Officer, Lucie will be helping bring ExMUN alive beyond the weekly debates. From creating content and promoting the society, she will be helping our members stay up to date with society activities.

As a History student with a particular interest in climate change and sustainability, Lucie has already thrown herself within the world of MUN, from attending conferences and meeting people from across the global MUN circuit. This year she’s hoping to get more involved and show everyone what opportunities ExMUN has to offer.

When she’s not doing MUN, you can usually find Lucie at Exeter Museum, drinking chicken wine and cheese or somehow ending up in a debate on whether eating penguins is halal. She also can be found drawing anything, anywhere at anytime.

We’re so excited to have Lucie as a Press and Publicity Officer and can’t wait to see her ideas this year! 💙

Now it’s time to meet Ethen, one of the Press and Publicity Officers!

As part of the Press and Publicity team, Ethen is behind ExMUN’s social media and publicity, helping everyone keep up to date with everything happening within the society. From debates to conferences he works it into the emails or Instagram page.

A Philosophy and Politics student, Ethen can usually be found talking about politics or MUN, or both at the same time. He’s particularly excited to bring his ideas to ExMUN’s publicity this year, even if his ideas of work occasionally includes editing himself dancing with Disney princesses.

His MUN highlights this year has included winning the Mario kart social, and somehow finding a bubble tea shop at every single conference.

Outside of MUN, Ethen is a chocolate milk enthusiast and can typically be found buying 6 cartons at Sainsburys.

We’re really excited to have Ethen on the committee this year and can’t wait to see what he gets up to with Press and Publicity, even though he is the one writing these captions! 💙

Next up in our committee is Ella Dennes, our Internal Training Officer!

As ITO, Ella is dedicated to helping every member find their own confidence in debate. Whether you’re already comfortable in MUN or still working up the courage to raise your placard, Ella is here to support you with your MUN journey.

A BA Religion, Culture and Society student, Ella has a particular fondness for any topic Religion based and is excited to be chairing more conferences this year. She’s most importantly hoping to enjoy herself along the way, and to hopefully not die in any more crises because she wasn’t paying attention.

Outside of MUN, Ella is a self proclaimed collector of Smiskis, buttons and Vogue magazines and is more than happy to yap about any of them

We’re so excited to have Ella as our Internal Training Officer this year and can’t wait to see the work she does this year and the volume of her giggles outside of debates. 💙
