Justice comes far too long after the damage.
With convoluted decisions.
Nuanced problems that only affect victims.

Perhaps it isn’t about louder voices and tighter control.
Perhaps it’s ensuring people and communities never lose their own authority to begin with.

We’re watching in real time when responsibility is handed upwards and outwards.

I’m careful now more than ever.
Every generation has to inherit something better.

Forestry in the UK will change.

Not because the larger conversion centres have decided that they’ve neglected domestic ability. We all recognise that something isn’t right, it doesn’t match up and it doesn’t fit.

5 new communities now have resilience and access to their own timber. I’m proud of that but we’re far from done. Not until everybody can access something which rightfully belongs to them.

This year I want 16 communities to access their own timber.

Ambitious? We’ll see.
