The 2025 Being Human Festival starts this week! Addressing the theme 'Between the Lines', the University of Exeter invites members of the public to explore humanities research taking place across the University.
The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum will be running a creative workshop on filmmaking for 9-12 year olds, while the Special Collections team are hosting a conversation event with author Elisabeth Gifford to discover how Daphne Du Maurier's archives informed her recent novel. And as part of the 'War Poetry as Existential Defence' series, Ukrainian servicewoman and prize-winning poet, Yaryna Chornohuz will be working with Professor Hugh Roberts and Exeter Unesco City of Literature to highlight the power of poetry on the frontlines.
The Being Human Festival is the UK's national festival of the humanities, bringing leading research to new audiences. You can view the full programme, and book tickets here: https://www.beinghumanfestival.org/festival-events
