We were honoured to attend the dedication of the new Rossall School Combined Cadet Force contingent banners by HRH The Princess Royal.
As the home of the UK's first Cadet Training Corps, established in 1860, Rossall School holds a unique place in British cadet history. The ceremony celebrated more than 165 years of leadership, teamwork, resilience and service, while recognising the continued role of the CCF in developing these qualities in young people.
Representing Blackpool and The Fylde College's Fleetwood Offshore Survival Centre and Fleetwood Nautical College were Mark Sumner, Offshore Survival Centre Manager, attending in his role with HM Coastguard Fleetwood; Ian Ellarby, Head of Offshore, Fire & Safety; Neil Atkinson, Head of Campus; and Michael Pilkington, Fire Fighting Trainer and representative of Rossall School CCF.
It was a privilege to witness such a significant occasion and join Rossall School in celebrating its proud cadet heritage and enduring tradition of excellence.
