📚 Year 9 & 12 - Welcome to Frome College 📚

We are excited to welcome our new Year 9 & 12 students on Monday the 7th of September.

📝 Year 9

🎒 Arrive and wait at the tech courts (same place as on induction day) by 8.40am. You’ll be collected by your tutor.

👨🏼‍🏫 There will be an extended tutor time after which you’ll attend lessons.

✏️ You’ll need a pencil case and stationery.

💦 A water bottle….

👟 But you do not need your PE kit.

🍔 Students will be issued with their canteen card and free school meals will be available for those who are eligible. All other students can either bring a packed lunch or use their debit card in the canteen.

💬 Parents (not students or children) can join our parents chat group. This is an informal place for parents to share questions and support. It is monitored by FC staff. Please answer the admin questions so we can keep the group secure.

📵 Mobile phone pouches will also be issued.

💻 If you have an Arbor account from your middle school, you should be able to add Frome College.

Please do not worry too much. We always expect some Arbor teething problems whilst everyone gets used to it.

Please arrive at the Futures common room by 8.40am.

🍔 You’ll be able to use your debit card as normal in the canteen or bring your packed lunch.

What an amazing morning - even the rain couldn’t dampen our spirits ☔️

We know that exam results are not the be all and end all but we hope that you have want you wanted and enough to open the door on your next journey.

You are all wonderful and we couldn’t be prouder 👏🏻

Message from principal Emma Reynolds:

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Year 11 students. Throughout Key Stage 4, this year group has shown remarkable resilience, determination, and commitment to College life.

Today, we proudly celebrate each student's individual success and growth.

This summer, our students sat examinations across a wide range of subjects, achieving strong outcomes.

The majority will now continue their journey into our Sixth Form, and we look forward to supporting them in their Post-16 studies

💫Exam Highlights 💫

🇪🇸Modern Foreign Languages – Spanish results are excellent with the average grade being 6
and 92% grade 5 or above

🥼Science– Physics results are superb with 96% at grade 5 or above with an average grade 7
across the year group

🎭Drama has achieved brilliantly with 76% grade 5 and 24% at the highest grade 9

📺 Media 52% of students attained grade 5 or above with 12% at grade 9

🧵Textiles – Exceptional progress has been made, with 95% of the cohort meeting or exceeding their target grades

🧮Maths and in particular Further Maths have achieved very well with 17% at grade 9.

⛑️Students of Health and Social Care and Child Development have achieved very well with 90%
at grade 4 or above.

💕SEND Achievement – The outcomes of our SEND students continue to impress with over 67% of SEND students surpassing their target grades across their GCSEs.

💙💗Boys and Girls – Our results show far less of a gender gap than seen nationally especially in
Maths where girls outperformed boys at grade 4+
We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2026 at our Awards Evening on Tuesday 24th November at the Memorial Theatre. This special event will highlight the many individual stories of progress and achievement that make this year group so unique. Further details will follow soon.
For our new Sixth Form students, the first day of Year 12 will be Monday 7th September, with a prompt start at 8:45am in Futures.

Year 13 students will return on Tuesday 8th September.

Our sincere thanks go to our students, families, and staff. These achievements are a true testament to the hard work, partnership, and support of our entire College community.

A reminder that paper results are available from 10am in Futures today.

Although results will be emailed at 8am, if you can hold off until 10am, opening your results with your friends and family is a wonderful thing to do. We hope you’ll join us.

It’s also an opportunity to check any queries and quiz the sixth form team about next year.

The wait is NEARLY over…

GCSE results will be emailed tomorrow at 8am to student college email accounts. Paper results will be available at 10am from Futures.

We would love to see you in the Futures Building tomorrow from to celebrate with you, answer any queries and collect your results.

What a joyous morning celebrating with our Post 16 students as they collected their results.

We are so proud of your hard work and it was a pleasure to see you all this morning.

From Ms Reynolds:

‘Warmest congratulations to all our students receiving their exam results today. These fantastic achievements are a true reflection of hard work, resilience and dedication.

We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible staff and families, whose unwavering support made this possible. We are so proud of each and every one of you and wish everyone the very best for the future.

This year, 152 Frome College students sat a total of 444 exams across 36 subjects. Our students achieved remarkable results with over 51% achieving grade B or higher.

💫Subject Highlights:💫

♾️ Mathematics: Outstanding performance with 62% of students achieving grade B or higher.

🎨 Art: Superb results with over 50% grades A or A*

🔬📚Science & English:

🧪Chemistry – 55% grade B or above
⚖️Physics – 55% grade B or above
📖English Literature – 70% grade B or above

⚽️ Sport: Exceptional results, with 80% of students achieving Distinction or Distinction*
In Double Sport, 75% achieved Double Distinction or higher.

💼Applied Business: For the second year running consistently excellent outcomes with 100% of students achieving Merit or above, and 70% gaining Distinction or higher.

🔍Criminology: Brilliant outcomes all round with 75% gaining grade B or higher.

⛑️Health & Social Care, Sociology, Sport, Photography and Business studies all achieved 100% pass rate at grade C or above.

We are especially proud of our SEND students, many of whom have made outstanding progress during their time with us. This is a credit not only to their perseverance but also to the dedication and care of our staff.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to welcome back our new Year 13 cohort on Tuesday September 8th.

After a productive first year in our Sixth Form, we look forward to seeing everyone continue to thrive.

To our outgoing Year 13 students – congratulations and best wishes for the future! Please stay in touch, and don’t forget your Certificate Event on 5th January, 2027 at 4pm.

The wait is nearly over… from 8am tomorrow morning, results will be sent by email to your College email address.

If you would like to collect them in person (and be congratulated by us), or if there are any issues accessing results then the Sixth Form Futures building will be open and staffed from 10am!

We’d love to see you to say a huge well done after all of your hard work and dedication.

Frome College musicians were joined by the selwoodacademyfrome choir for a magnificent showcase of talent.

We absolutely loved celebrating with our amazingly talented musicians.

What an evening ✨✨✨✨

It is hard to convey simply how good our musicians are - their professionalism, skill and dedication are second to none. They really are something quite special. Talented beyond their years and creative beyond belief.

Thank you to our music department, peri teachers, staff, parents and helpers for creating this special space for our students.
