University of Glasgow Model United Nations Model United Nations is a debate format based on the United Nations' different councils.

Step into the shoes of other countries to gain new perspectives on current affairs and gain a more open minded view of the world. The University of Glasgow Model United Nations is a society aimed towards all who are interested in international-style debate. Bringing the UN experience to students, the society meets regularly and debates current world issues in a strict UN format. Through role-play

and discussion as world nations, delegates try to build a Resolution acceptable to all in order to rectify and amend certain situations. Along with the weekly meetings, GlaMUN sends delegates to represent Glasgow University at international conferences across the world. From WorldMUN at The Hague in March 2009, to London International MUN in March 2010, the delegates play a key role in more intense and structured debate with students from around the world. There is also, of course, the social aspect, and boundless fun to be had.
