11/11/2018
Today marks the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice.
At 11am, on the eleventh day of November 1918 after four years of conflict, the guns fell silent and the First World War was at an end.
More destructive than any war that was fought before it, the Great War claimed the lives of close to 150,000 soldiers from Scotland- 18,000 of whom came from Glasgow.
They, along with the many others from Glasgow who sadly lost their lives in subsequent conflict including the Second World War, will be honoured with the Rembrance Day service at the Glasgow Cenotaph laster today.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.
