This amazing event is hosted by our very own Centre for Fantasy and the Fantastic and will be held online May 7-9 this year.

The School of Critical Studies and the School of Culture & Creative Arts are each seeking a Learning, Teaching & Student Experience Manager on a Full Time, Fixed-Term basis to support our thriving environment of students and staff.

As part of a cross-College team, the Learning, Teaching & Student Experience Managers will manage the support services for Learning and Teaching and Student Experience for the School of Critical Studies and the School of Culture & Creative Arts respectively. The role holders will be responsible for the administrative support for programmes offered by the Schools, including undergraduate, postgraduate (taught and research) and other relevant provision. They will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of support services to staff and students and manage a team of professional services colleagues.

The University of Glasgow is hosting the first international academic Outlander Conference between 18-22 July 2023 to celebrate all things Outlander.

Outlander author Diana Gabaldon will be joined by expert scholars and fans in tackling themes such as Jacobite history, screen production, Scottish tourism, Gaelic and Scots, costume design, fandom, Claire Fraser’s medicine and witchcraft.

Diana opens the Outlander Conference in Glasgow on Tuesday 18 July. Her lecture entitled “Why Scotland? Why Not Mexico?" Genes, Borders, Culture and Fiction: Why They Matter and When They Don't” is at 4pm in the Bute Hall at the University of Glasgow.

This event is open to the public, as well as Outlander Conference delegates.
