Our spotlight series continues as we celebrate another Glasgow Caledonian University graduate working at the World Cup - Lewis Irons ⚽

A Multimedia Journalism graduate from GCU, Lewis is now gaining incredible experience working with the BBC at one of the world’s biggest sporting events. From supporting coverage to helping bring stories to life, he’s playing an important role behind the scenes on the global stage.

Lewis’s journey highlights how talent, dedication and hands-on experience can open doors to opportunities at the very highest level.

Continuing our spotlight on Glasgow Caledonian University graduates at the World Cup, we’re proud to feature Liam McLeod - a voice familiar to football fans across the UK ⚽

A Journalism graduate from GCU, Liam is now a leading commentator with the BBC, bringing the drama, excitement and stories of the game to life for millions watching around the world. From key moments to unforgettable goals, his commentary is the soundtrack to some of football’s biggest occasions.

Liam’s journey is a fantastic example of how a passion for storytelling and sport can lead to an influential career at the highest level. As the voice behind the screen at the World Cup, he plays a vital role in connecting audiences to the action.

🚀 Day Three of our Summer LaunchPad is getting down to business.

The momentum continues as our talented cohort of students and graduates deepen their ideas and develop the skills needed to bring them to life 🌱

A special thank you to Professor Elaine Boyd OBE for delivering an engaging and informative session on the financial essentials of launching a start-up business. Her insights have given our participants a clearer understanding of the financial foundations needed to build and sustain a successful venture 💷📊

It’s fantastic to see confidence growing across the group, with ideas becoming sharper and more refined with each session.

As we wrap up another fantastic day, Frank Gormanley, creator and facilitator of our Launchpad programme, said: “Looking ahead to our final week - where everything comes together - I’m excited to see the culmination of the learning, how the ideas have been refined and shaped, and to hear participants pitch with real confidence and passion.”

We can’t wait to see the progress our innovative members have made and to celebrate their achievements as the Summer Launchpad reaches its conclusion 🎉✨
