Following our successful EGM, may I introduce to you our new committee members!

Thank you for attending the EGM and Introductory talk. For those who didn’t manage to secure a position, we sincerely thank you for putting yourselves forward and having the courage to run. We are hosting an ‘Introduction to Emergency Medicine’ and brief introduction to the society event preceding this starting at 6:30pm. The EGM shall follow this event.

Please prepare a short speech (maximum 2 minutes in length) as to why you are suited to the role. If you cannot attend the event, please enclose your speech and this will be read out by a member of the committee on your behalf.

GUEMS will be holding our Annual General Meeting at 19:30 on Wednesday 27 May 2026 in the Wolfson Medical School. The room will be confirmed shortly.

At the AGM, we will elect the committee for the 2026/27 academic year. Committee positions and voting are open to current University of Glasgow students who will also be students in the upcoming academic year.

This will be a hybrid meeting. Please let us know if you would like the Zoom link.

If you are interested in running for a committee position, please complete the form below so that we have an idea of numbers in advance. Candidates should be prepared to give a short speech on the evening about why they would be well suited to the role.

What a day! 🎉 Last month’s conference was such a success - thank you to everyone who joined us for making it so special. We’re really grateful for the enthusiasm and energy everyone brought to the event. It was brilliant to see so many people come together to share a passion for Emergency Medicine.

We only have a couple of events left this academic year, so come along to our upcoming sim event on Monday 2nd March for more EM fun. Or, if you’d like to get involved in committee next year and be part of the team that makes events like this happen, keep an eye out for announcements about our AGM!

🗣️ Next speaker announced!! We’ve got Ross Moy coming along to talk all about Military medicine. Ross is an emergency medicine consultant at the QEUH, with a wealth of experience within the Regular Army and Emergency Medicine Retrieval Service.

Tickets for our conference (happening this weekend- Sat 31st Jan) are available via the SRC website, only £6 for the full day or £3 if you can only join us for the morning!
