Founded in 1947, the University of Strathclyde Business School (SBS) is a pioneering, internationally renowned academic organisation that shapes and develops the business minds of tomorrow. Strathclyde is a triple accredited business school: the only business school in Scotland, and one of only 66 in the world, to be triple accredited, holding accreditation from the international bodies, AMBA, AAC
SB and EQUIS. In addition to our international accreditation, Strathclyde has a reputation for research excellence. It has been rated in the top 10 business schools in the UK for its research - and first in Scotland - in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) which measures the quality and breadth of research (December 2014). The REF indicated that the business school’s research was particularly strong in terms of Impact, a measure of how its research impacts on practise in business. Strathclyde Business School is one of four faculties forming the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, and offers the highest quality business education and management development from inexperienced graduates to senior executives. As one of the largest institutions of its kind in Europe, with around 200 academic staff and more than 3000 full-time students (undergraduate and postgraduate), Strathclyde Business School’s subject departments and specialist units collaborate to provide a dynamic, fully-rounded and varied programme of specialist and cross-disciplinary postgraduate courses. SBS is known for its innovation in business and management education, pioneering developments in undergraduate teaching, the MBA and the Doctorate of Business Administration. We pioneered the study of Marketing, and initiated cross-disciplinary studies in Technology and Business Studies and International Business and Modern Languages. We introduced new methods of study for the MBA in the UK, and our pioneering spirit took the Strathclyde MBA into many new countries via the establishment of international centres in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia.
