Lodge Govandale at Govan no 437 Welcome! Lodge Govandale No. 437, chartered 7th November 1864.

Our meetings are held every third Monday from August to June, starting at 7:30pm unless otherwise stated.

Last night, on the 15th of October the RWM, accompanied by the lodge swordbearer and treasurer, attended Lodge Craigends 1042 where we witnessed an excellent MMM degree conferred by Lodge St Barchan 156. Fraternal greetings were exchanged on behalf of the lodge.
The RWM and lodge would like to thank Lodge Craigends 1042 for their usual warm welcome and harmony in what was an enjoyable evening of freemasonry. 🤝

Yesterday evening on the 13th of October, I had the pleasure of visiting our friends at Lodge Neptune No. 419.
​The Brethren were treated to an excellent exemplification of the Fellowcraft Degree, carried out by a visiting deputation from Lodge Langside No. 955. The ritual work was of a very high standard and well-received by the assembled Brethren.

​I had the honour of commenting on the degree on behalf of the visitors, taking the opportunity to exchange fraternal greetings on behalf of all the visiting Brethren, and from Lodge Govandale in particular.

​The evening concluded with a great Harmony, offering the usual good company and fellowship. Thanks to the Brethren of Lodge Neptune No. 419 for their hospitality and a thoroughly enjoyable night of Masonic work.

Last night, the 5th of October 2026, it was an honour to represent Lodge Govandale at Govan No. 437 on a visit to our friends at Lodge St Columba Govan No. 729. I was accompanied by the IPM and WSW and their support was gratefully welcomed.

​We were joined by a fine deputation from Lodge Corkerhill No. 1426, whose Degree Team delivered a first-class exemplification of the Fellowcraft Degree. The precision and standard of the ritual were exceptional, and a credit to everyone involved.

​I had the distinct privilege of replying on behalf of the visiting Brethren. It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout of reigning Masters supporting the evening, demonstrating the unity and fellowship amongst our Lodges.

​The night concluded with an excellent Harmony. Sincere thanks to the Brethren of Lodge St Columba Govan No. 729 for their generous hospitality and a truly memorable evening.

Last night, Lodge Govandale conferred an exemplification of the EA degree for lodge Oatlands 1005. The degree was very well recieved by the RWM and visitors to the lodge. The RWM of lodge Govandale would like to thank the entire degree team, particularly the contributions from our honorary members who were first class. Thank you to all who attended but more in particular to the RWM and office bearers of Lodge Oatlands 1005 for a fine evening of freemasonry.

Lodge Govandale would like to thank all brethren who came to support our meeting last night. On this special occasion, Lodge Neptune 419 conferred the Master Mason degree on a progressive candidate. It was an excellent night of freemasonry, the degree was exemplary as can be expected from lodge 419. The RWM would like to pass on his and the lodges fraternal greetings and hopes to see you again in the future.

Brethern, tomorrow the 17th of August at 7:30pm, Lodge Govandale returns from recess where we will welcome our esteemed friends from Lodge Neptune 419. On this special night the MM degree shall be conferred on a progressive candidate. We are very much looking forward to this meeting. All brethren of good standing will be made most welcome.

A little bit late with this report, however,

The RWM reports that on Monday the 3rd of August he visited our esteemed friends and brothers at lodge St Columba Govan 729, accompanied by the IPM Bro Alan Drennan and Hon member RWM (1042) Bro Martin Cassidy. We witnessed an excellent EA degree on two candidates conferred by Lodge Craigielea 1218. Fraternal greetings were exchanged on behalf of all brethren.

The RWM wants to thank bros Drennan and Cassidy for their support.

The next regular meeting will be on Monday 17th August, where we welcome our great friends and brothers from lodge Neptune 419, who will be conferring the Master Mason degree on a progressive candidate. Tyle at 7:30pm.

All brethren of good standing will be made most welcome.

Brethren, tomorrow the 6th of July we will be visiting our sister lodge and esteemed friends, Lodge St Columba Govan 729 where we will have the privilege and honour of conferring the Mark Master Mason Ceremonial degree on a progressive candidate. This is a degree we are very much looking forward to. The meeting will take place at 7:30pm, 101 Clifford St, Glasgow, G51 1QP.

All brethren of good standing will be made most welcome.

Our Worthy Secretary, Jim MacDonald Jnr. PM, is participating in a Charity Strictly Come Dancing event in aid of Calum's Cabin.
He has already commenced lessons with a professional dancer, who has the unenviable task of teaching him how to dance, and in his own words, "I move about the floor with the grace and agility of a hippopotamus."
Any donations, no matter how small, will go a long way to help Calum's Cabin support families with children battling cancer.

Yesterday evening of the 15th June, during our last regular meeting before recess, the Brethren of the Lodge were honoured to receive a deputation from Lodge St Columba Govan 729 who so ably conferred the Fellow Craft Degree upon our progressive candidate.

The work carried out was of the highest standard, delivered with precision, dignity, and true Masonic spirit, making the ceremony both memorable and instructive for the candidate and Brethren alike.

We extend our sincere thanks to all visiting Brethren who attended in support of the Lodge. The harmony and fellowship shared throughout the evening served as a fine example of Freemasonry at work.

The Lodge now enters its summer recess and will reconvene on the 17th August, when we look forward to welcoming our friends from Lodge Neptune 419 who will confer the Master Mason Degree upon our progressive candidate. This promises to be another excellent evening within the Craft, and one we eagerly anticipate.

Before then, however, the Brethren will pay a visit to Lodge St Columba Govan 729 on Monday 6th July, where we shall have the privilege of conferring the Mark Degree.

All qualified Brethren in good standing will be assured of a warm and cordial welcome at any of the meetings mentioned above.

Thank you once again for your continued support throughout the year. We wish all Brethren and their families an enjoyable and restful recess / summer.
