This week rehearsals are in full swing for the second year's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream that opens next week at The Kings Theatre, whilst the third years started rehearsals today on Antigone for their final show. Later this month our first year students will start on their version of Little Dorrit

Sue Colverd Academic Course Leader for Drama & Performance Practice

Sue has been an actor in theatre with The Bristol Old Vic, the Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theatre and The Actors Touring Company and worked all over the world from the West End, The Globe in Japan and Off-Broadway in New York. She has been nominated for an Olivier Award and worked in all genres of the entertainment industry. She has run her own Theatre Company, directing, writing and acting and was Artistic Director of the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham for 10 years where she directed, ran the New Writing programme and their studio space and wrote and directed their pantomimes. She is a freelance director and was Associate Director for Red Dog Theatre Company and is currently working with the fabulous Show of Strength Theatre Company in Bristol.

Karen Benjamin is a senior Lecturer on the Drama course with skills in improvisation and comedy. Karen studied Drama & Dance for her degree and was Artistic Director of Taking Steps Community Theatre Company as well as having a career in theatre and TV.
She is currently an Improviser with Box of Frogs but this week you will see her performing with "Breakfast of Champions" at 1000 Trades Bar as part of Birmingham Improv monthly Jam Night.

We have a busy term starting! Physical Theatre are working on Alice Through the Looking Glass, Classical Theatre are rehearsing A Midsummer Nights Dream and Acting 2 are rehearsing an adaptation of Little Dorrit.
First years will be improvising in Birmingham I March and Individual Showcase pieces Performing next week!
Phew! It's a busy start to the term!!!
