How can we ensure the lessons of history are never forgotten?

Two Godalming College students explored this question through the Lessons from Auschwitz programme, taking part in educational seminars, reflective activities and a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum.

We were delighted to hear that Amelie's reflective piece of work was chosen for the Lessons from Auschwitz Ambassador Conference in July, the organisers describing her textiles creation as 'remarkable'.

Sports trials get underway today and tomorrow in our Sports Centre (500s).

⏰ Please arrive 15 minutes before your trial start time

Make sure you bring all the equipment needed for your sport, including any match-specific kit, such as shin pads for football, mouth guards for rugby etc.

Reminders:
✅ Netball and Men's Rugby trials are running on both days
✅ Men's Football players should attend on the specific day they have been allocated

From the Stasi Prison Memorial to the Topography of Terror, they explored some significant sites in modern European history.

A great summary from Ben: 💬 "The four days were packed with fun and insightful activities while still having time to relax and explore the city. My favourite activity was the guided tour around the city on the first night... learning more about the history of Berlin really helped to picture the lengths and extremes the N***s went to in order to gain power. Many thanks for the trip, it was brilliant."

🎉 Outstanding success for our Economics students!

Godalming College students achieved exceptional results in the inaugural Cambridge Economics Challenge, a new university-level competition run by the University of Cambridge.

Highlights:
✅ Chen achieved a perfect score of 50/50 and was one of only 14 students nationally to reach the Rose Ryal award threshold.
✅ The majority of our cohort achieved Sovereign awards, placing them in the top 11.7% of candidates nationally.

A group of Godalming students recently visited the Sport and Life Sciences Department at the University of Roehampton, where they took part in interactive sessions covering Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Management and Sports Therapy.

It was a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into studying sport-related subjects at university level.

Remember that your results are just one part of your story. They reflect your hard work but do not define who you are, the challenges you've overcome, the resilience you've shown and the personal growth you've achieved along the way.

Whatever tomorrow brings, be proud of yourself. You've come a long way ⭐

🧠👏 A huge well done to our Psychology students who visited Royal Holloway during the summer term, as part of the National Psychology Poster Competition!

Our team created both a video and a poster exploring the question: "How can psychology help shape healthier and stronger communities?" They then had the exciting opportunity of presenting their work to a panel of judges at the university.

As part of the day, the students also attended talks about studying Psychology at Royal Holloway, gaining valuable insight into university life and future opportunities in the subject.

💌 Our Health & Social Care students put their creativity to good use by designing Summer Postcards for residents at The Cedars in Hindhead.

The Cedars provides residential care and support for adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities, complex physical disabilities and associated needs.

We hope these colourful designs brought a little extra sunshine and smiles to residents this summer. ☀️🌻

Well done to all the students involved for supporting this project.
