llence, delivering quality training and education, and has a history of being pioneers with a number of unique achievements that have created new opportunities for learning. Today the college is an independent ‘not for profit’ organisation specialising in veterinary nurse and animal care training and operates from six training centres in the UK:

Congratulations to all our student veterinary nurses who took the August VetSkill OSCEs (practical exams) – we are delighted to announce that 100% of our students passed! 🎉

A huge well done to our learners on this fantastic achievement. Passing the OSCEs is an important milestone in veterinary nurse training and reflects a great deal of hard work and preparation.

We’d also like to thank our teaching and support teams, as well as the veterinary practices and clinical supervisors who support our students throughout their training.

Would you like to train as a veterinary nurse, but can’t find a veterinary practice to take you on? 👩‍⚕️

Our VetSkill Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing programme for non-employed applicants is enrolling now, with intakes starting all year round! This three-year option could be a fantastic route if you’re struggling to find a student veterinary nurse position, or you’re looking for an alternative to university.

✅ Three-year programme that includes work placements in approved veterinary practices, which will be sourced for you by our placement team
✅ Day-release study (online or classroom-based options) when not on placement
✅ No prior veterinary experience is required to apply

Last call for applications to the 2026 Laura Turnbull Bursary… The Laura Turnbull Bursary, Created in memory of former CAW veterinary nursing student, Laura Turnbull, is a £1,000 bursary (jointly funded by the College and Laura’s family) to support research projects, community outreach, One Health projects or innovative approaches to animal welfare.

If you are a CAW veterinary nursing student or alumni and have a project idea that reflects compassion, dedication and a love for veterinary nursing, make sure you apply by the fast approaching deadline of 30 September 2026. The winner will be announced at the 2026 CAW Student Awards Ceremony.
