🎓 7 things we wish we knew before joining music uni…

Thinking about studying music? Here are a few lessons we’ve learned along the way:

1. Your network matters. The people you meet can become collaborators, mentors and future opportunities.
2. There’s a lot of organising. From sessions to projects, staying on top of your time is key.
3. Record everything. Your journey, your work and your progress, you never know what you’ll want to look back on.
4. Say yes. Some of the best opportunities start by stepping outside your comfort zone.
5. Build your career alongside your degree. Don’t wait until graduation to start creating your path in the industry.
6. Be reliable. Being the person others can count on can take you further than you think.
7. Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. Everyone develops at their own pace.

I never thought I’d always study music, but I also knew I couldn’t ignore it. 🎶

I grew up singing, writing songs, and creating music, so when it came to choosing a university, I wanted somewhere that was focused on the music industry, not just the theory. That’s what led me to ACM.
