Earlier this year, a brand-new CBeebies music series featuring much-loved children’s TV character Dodge T. Dog and an exciting line-up of musical guests was filmed at the University of Hertfordshire’s state-of-the-art Propeller Stage! 🌟

The production also gave our students an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on a major BBC children’s TV production. 🎥🙌

One of those students was Kitty, who studies BA (Hons) Model Design and Character and Creative Effects. Kitty helped bring the show to life by working on the set design, gaining valuable real-world experience and putting her creative skills into practice! 💫

This festival aims to bring entertainment to children whose fathers are serving in the defence of Ukraine, giving the event a particularly meaningful purpose.

Propeller music sessions are BACK! 🚀

It’s great to see our Film and TV and Music students back in action filming and recording in our Propeller stage. This week we are joined by Sam Cotton a rapper and singer from South West London whose music is rooted in jazz, soul, and hip-hop!

We can’t wait to see the end results... 💫

University of Hertfordshire and School of Creative Arts alumna Harriet Muncaster, creator of the internationally bestselling Isadora Moon series, which has sold more than seven million copies worldwide, has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the University. 👏🏼

📖 The children’s author and illustrator received the Honorary Doctorate of Arts, awarded in recognition of her outstanding contribution to children’s literature, illustration and publishing, during the University’s graduation ceremony at St Albans Cathedral.

Harriet’s journey as an artist began close to home as she took her first steps into professional illustration at the University of Hertfordshire, where she completed an Art Foundation course between 2006 and 2007.

Since publishing her first illustrated book, I Am a Witch’s Cat, in 2014, Harriet has built a remarkable international career creating magical worlds that have captivated millions of children and families.

Today, she is the author and illustrator of more than 55 books, including the hugely successful Isadora Moon, Mirabelle and Emerald series, as well as The Diary of Wiska Wildflower and the Victoria Stitch books, all published by Oxford University Press.

We’re incredibly proud to have 21 finalists representing our course, a brilliant achievement! 👏

We had 3 Highly Commended films, with Paper Trails achieving recognition in two categories:

We were very excited to recently have the talented to perform on campus for our Propeller Music Sessions and this song, ‘Invincible Summer’ is now live on our Propeller Music YouTube page!

Levina is a German singer-songwriter. She represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv with the song “Perfect Life”

In collaboration with , Propeller Music Sessions at University of Hertfordshire give undergraduate Film and Television Production, Music Production, Audio Engineering, and Live Sound students hands on experience filming live music in our on-campus studio! 👏🏼
