New- Touring interactive exhibition as part of the of social science

Co- created with dietetic students in response to our research which found that people often struggle with making sense of food labels.

What information should be collected about people living in care homes? How can it be safely and effectively shared between services to promote good care? And how can we support research and innovation in care homes?

Researchers at CRIPACC, led by Professor Claire Goodman, are helping to answer these questions. The DACHA study is an NIHR-funded project carried out in partnership with care home residents, their families and people working in care homes. To learn more, click below or follow:

Yesterday there was food, drinks, and a lot of laughs, at the CRIPACC picnic, held at Bradfordbury observatory. Usually the picnic is an annual event, but because of COVID it was the first in three years!

We also took the opportunity to raise a glass together for Frances. She is sorely missed.

A go fund me page in memory of our wonderful colleague and friend Professor Frances Bunn who died recently from bowel cancer.

Professor Frances Bunn died in June 2022 after living with bowel cancer for 20 months. She was Professor of Health and Complex Conditions at the University of Hertfordshire, in the Centre for Research in Public Health and Community Care. Frances was a highly valued and influential colleague and a supportive friend to many within and beyond the University.

Frances requested that any money raised via the University be used to support postgraduate research students. We have set up a fund that will be awarded to a research student (or students) who exhibit some of Frances' characteristics in terms of tenacity, integrity and insight into conducting high-quality health and care research. We collected more than £1,000 when Frances retired in October 2021 and now wish to supplement this fund before awarding it to a student(s) in the coming months in her memory.

With many thanks from Frances' friends and colleagues at the University of Hertfordshire

It is with much sadness that we are letting you know that Frances Bunn passed away peacefully at Thames Hospice last Thursday night. She was diagnosed with bowel cancer some 20 months ago and retired from CRIPACC last October, to maximise the time she had left with her family. Her passing affects us all deeply, Frances worked for the University for nearly 20 years and was a friend and supporter of so many students and staff. She is missed and our thoughts are with Paul and her wider family.

Great news for Allied health at the university- which included CRIPACC research.

🌲🎅 So thankful for a covid-safe gathering, two years since CRIPACC last had an away day and social get together, it was wonderful to see colleagues, including many who had never met each other in person since joining the department! A good time had by all, including members of our Public Involvement in Research group. Wendy even managed to put everyone’s photos into a slide show 😆👍 and as ever the quiz went down well. Winning team the ‘Noel-it-alls’! Thanks to Chaz and Lindsey for setting the questions 🌲🎅. Wishing all friends and colleagues, past, present and future, a safe and happy festive period.
