Supporting the NHS
Antac was pleased to support Lauren Cook, a cardiac nurse at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, who took on an incredible challenge on 26 September, abseiling down St Thomas' Hospital to raise funds for an NHS charity.
Lauren is Terry Cook’s daughter, and we were delighted to make a donation towards her fundraising, supporting the ongoing efforts to recover from COVID-19 pandemic and to support the remarkable NHS teams through health and wellbeing programmes.

This week we raise the awareness of National Cadet Week. Jack works for our MoD Housing Division. And shares his experience.
“As a cadet, I was a shy and preserved individual. But through the years spent as a cadet and an adult volunteer (CFAV), it has helped bring me out my shell more! Previously, I would have been frightened at the thought of speaking in front of a group of individuals or being the one to take control of various situations, but with the experiences, lessons and support given to me throughout, I can and do this on a daily basis inside and out of cadets!

For example, recently in the first week of September, I had the opportunity to go to the Netherlands and participate in the remembrance of “Operation Market Garden” in the form of the Airbourne March (The largest one-day commemorative march in the world) where 15 CFAVs took 38 Cadets through 3 different countries and completed the 10Km march.

The opportunities provided alongside becoming a CFAV are like none-other too! You can earn qualifications in a range of activities from Management, First Aid (All free courses through the ACF), Shooting (KQUAL – Coaching on a live range, Short Range Course – The lead person running a 25m Range), Adventurous training (Kayaking instructor, Rock climbing instructors) and many more! I myself have been given the opportunity to go and attend my KQUAL in the upcoming weeks!

It’s been a busy week for Lionheart Racing! On Thursday, the team attended Army Sports Car Racing Day 2026 at Thruxton Race Circuit, where Geoff Fox had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Candler from Lionheart Racing. The event showcased the exciting world of motorsport to personnel across the British Army, highlighting the fantastic opportunities available through Army Motorsport.

And the action continues today, with Lionheart Racing at Silverstone for the British Touring Cars! Good luck, Lionheart Racing, we’ll be cheering you on!

Congratulations to Leadville Parsons, Health & Safety Manager, who has successfully completed his ProQual Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice. The qualification was officially awarded on 3 September 2026.

Leadville completed the qualification alongside his day-to-day role, with the programme taking just over a year to complete. Despite the demands of work and life along the way, he managed to submit his final unit shortly before undergoing recent surgery – making completion of the qualification an especially welcome achievement.

Leadville would like to thank Steve Mullan and Wayne Byles of SM Safety & Consultancy, his NVQ Assessors, for their support and guidance throughout the programme, along with Geoff Fox, Antac H&S Director, who acted as his mentor and provided invaluable advice and encouragement.

“It’s taken over a year and there have certainly been times when work and life got in the way, but I’m really chuffed to have finally got it over the line. A big thank you to Steve, Wayne and Geoff for all their help and support along the way.”

Well done Leadville on a fantastic achievement and another important step in your continued professional development.

The event provided a great opportunity to:
- Explore new ideas and proven approaches to support our ongoing sustainability journey
- Gain a clearer understanding of the challenges and opportunities ahead for businesses
- Hear from and be inspired by organisations already driving meaningful change

Good Luck to Our 3 Peaks Challenge Team
As our 3 Peaks Challenge team heads off, we’d like to give a huge shout-out to JCT600 Vehicle Leasing Solutions Ltd for kindly loaning us the minibus, and to Keith Rimmer for stepping in at short notice to take on the role of main driver.
The team are raising funds for two very worthy causes: Help for Heroes and Prostate Cancer UK. We’re looking forward to following their journey over the next few days. Good luck to everyone taking part, stay safe, keep those legs moving and enjoy the challenge!
