We’re developing a new brand for the University of Huddersfield - and we want your input.

We’re currently developing new Brand Guidelines for the University of Huddersfield, and we want to make sure they reflect who we truly are. To do that, we need to hear from the people who know this place best – and that includes you.

"Colleagues and I graduated from BA Computing in Business in 1986. Plans are afoot to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of our graduation during 2026. A small number of us have established a WhatsApp group to make plans (for around Thursday 11 June) and would be delighted to hear from other members of the course who we may have lost contact with but are interested in learning more. If you or someone you know were part of this cohort, please email me at [email protected] for the WhatsApp link."

Duncan Druce lectured at the University and received an honorary doctorate. Sadly, he passed away in 2015. His family is organising a concert in his memory, in aid of Medecins Sans Frontieres.

The concert will be held in St Paul's Concert Hall at 5pm on Saturday 20 September. After the concert, there will be light refreshments and an exhibition of Duncan's varied musical career in Heritage Quay. Any past students who remember him fondly are very welcome to come.

University of Huddersfield Master’s alumni and conducting tutor Ben Crick (www.bencrickmusic.com) recently played a key role at the opening night of the prestigious new Bradford Live entertainment venue.

Ben conducted the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra for the live event, featured on the BBC’s The One Show, that also included a varied array of talent including poet Ian McMillan, renowned tenor Aled Jones, ex-Bradford City footballer, manager and TV pundit Chris Kamara and the BBC’s Bantam of the Opera choir.

Under Ben’s baton, the orchestra performed A Northern Score, with words by Ian McMillan and scored by Ben, who hails from Highburton a couple of miles from the university.

University of Huddersfield Master’s alumni and conducting tutor Ben Crick has collaborated on a string of Yorkshire music pieces and performances.
