The University of Huddersfield has been recognised as the most improved university in Yorkshire, with positive increases across all seven areas of the National Student Survey 2026. 🎉

Here's what students rated highest:
✨ Academic Support – 87.1%
📚 Teaching on My Course – 84.2%
🌍 Learning Opportunities – 83.4%

The biggest improvements are in:
⬆️ Organisation & Management (+5.4%)
🗣️ Student Voice (+4.6%)

These results reflect the University's commitment to listening to the students and continuously improving their university experience.

May began her journey at Huddersfield ISC when she was just 17 years old. Today, she's thriving as a second-year Pharmacy student at the University of Huddersfield. 🌟

What does May love most about student life in Huddersfield?
🏡 Creating a cosy space she can call home, decorating her room, and taking time to recharge after busy days of studying and working.
🌳 Enjoying walks around the beautiful university campus, staying active at the gym, celebrating student events, and exploring nearby cities like Leeds and Manchester.
🎶 One of her favourite things about Huddersfield is how well-connected it is. With major cities just a short train ride away, she can travel to concerts and be back home the very same day - perfect for her fangirl era! ✨

Her favourite part of university life?
"It's not just getting a degree. It's the friendships, the opportunities I've been given, the independence I've gained, and the memories I've created along the way. Huddersfield has truly become my second home."

🎉 A little celebration before the final push! 🎓✨
Throwback to our small ‘leavers’ celebration’.

Before exams wrapped up, we got together to celebrate our October Cohort and all they’ve achieved so far. 💙

From tasty snacks and drinks to games, prizes, and plenty of laughs, it was the perfect chance to take a break and make some memories. 📸✨ The photobooth props definitely brought out everyone’s fun side!

Linh’s success story: Student, Progress Coach & now PhD 🎓

Hear the inspiring story of Linh from Vietnam, one of the ISC’s most outstanding students. Linh began her journey with the International Foundation Year. After completing both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, Linh returned to the ISC as a Progress Coach, sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion with new international students.

Today, Linh is continuing her academic journey and is now pursuing her PhD - a true testament to her commitment, resilience, and love for learning.

🌍✨ A celebration of cultures, traditions, and community!

On 13 May 2026, our students at the University of Huddersfield International Study Centre came together for our Global Culture Celebration Event 🎉 It’s hosted at our brand new Common room ✨

From delicious traditional snacks to cultural displays, colourful outfits, music, and instruments from around the world, the event was a wonderful opportunity to share and learn from one another.

🎶🪑 Join our event: Musical Chairs 😝

Students at Huddersfield International Study Centre brought the energy to our Musical Chairs event, battling it out for a place in the final four 👏

The challenge didn’t stop there — finalists then took part in a Guess the Song quiz 🎵 with sweets and biscuits up for grabs 🍬🍪

Celebrating our alumni success 🎓✨
A huge congratulations to Silvana Trevale on her recent feature in The Guardian for her upcoming book Venezuelan Youth, published by Guest Editions.

The book features photos taken over the last decade and aims to present a different side to a country often portrayed in crisis. Image credit -

Silvana from Venezuela began her journey at the International Study Centre, completing her International Foundation Year before graduating with a BA (Hons) in Photography. Since then, she has built an impressive career as a freelance photographer, with her work featured in leading publications including Vogue, The Guardian and ELLE.

“I believe my degree will enable me to one day start my own magazine and have a photography company… The minute I arrived in Huddersfield I fell in love with the town and the University.” - shared by Silvana.

We are incredibly proud to see our students go on to share meaningful stories with the world 🌍
