💡 Big Ideas are back with this latest suggestions!

What do you think about the University’s new AI chatbot, Hudson?

This Big Idea calls for Hudson to be removed from the HudHelp Self-Service Portal, raising concerns about AI’s environmental impact, student support services, staff roles and ethical implications.

Looking to get outdoors, meet new people and explore the countryside? Join the Climbing and Mountaineering Society for a scenic 5.5-mile wellbeing walk on Saturday 24th October!

We'll be heading from Uni Campus to Meltham, passing beautiful spots including Beaumont Park, Crosland Moor Stone Circle and Folly Dolly Falls.

📍 Meet inside Student Central at 12:30pm.

No previous experience needed — just bring suitable footwear, snacks and water, and enjoy the scenery and good company along the way.

Did you know that Black History Month was first celebrated in the UK in 1987?

This October, join us as we honour Black history, communities, culture and the incredible contributions of Black people both in the UK and around the world.

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing stories, facts and opportunities to learn, celebrate and recognise the impact of Black communities throughout history.

💡 Tip from your Officer

As the evenings get darker and the weather gets colder, it’s important to take a little extra time to look after your mental health and wellbeing.

Tip: Try to keep a routine and get outside for some daylight each day, even if it’s just a short walk. Staying active, getting some fresh air and keeping a bit of structure in your day can all help when the colder months set in.

And remember, you don’t have to deal with things on your own. It’s always okay to reach out for support, take some time for yourself and prioritise your wellbeing.

The BUCS results are in! 🏆

This Wednesday saw Team Hud back in action across a range of sports, including netball, football, rugby, tennis, badminton and more, with teams competing across their respective fixtures.

Well done to all our athletes who competed and represented the University of Huddersfield this week. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our teams throughout the BUCS season.
