We're incredibly pleased to celebrate our A Level students who have secured highly competitive apprenticeships with BHP, Deloitte, KPMG, and RSM.

We're also delighted that several students have been offered places on the prestigious PwC Flying Start Programme, which combines university study with paid industry experience.

It's fantastic to see all they have achieved, and we wish them every success in their future careers. A huge thank you to our alumni and industry partners for their continued support.

🎮 20 of our students recently visited the University of Huddersfield to take part in a Games Jam event, where they tested games created by final-year undergraduates.

The experience gave students a fantastic insight into game development, from understanding how projects are created to learning about the testing process and providing feedback.

They also had the opportunity to speak with university students about their studies and experiences.

Our English department recently hosted an inspiring workshop in partnership with the Huddersfield Literature Festival 🎤🎶

The event brought together Year 6 pupils, Greenhead College students and local musician Rob Bradley for a lively rap and spoken word session celebrating creativity, confidence and language.

Designed to break down traditional barriers around English, the workshop used rhythm, rhyme and performance to show that words are not only written, but can also be heard, felt and shared. Participants explored self‑expression in a fun, supportive environment while developing key literacy skills.

Our Student Ambassadors played a vital role in supporting younger pupils, gaining valuable experience in communication, empathy and leadership along the way.

The workshop offered visiting pupils early exposure to creative pathways and highlighted how English can be engaging and inclusive for everyone.

We recently marked the conclusion of an inspiring research project developed in partnership with the Teaching Medieval Women team, Professor Jonathan Phillips and Dr Natasha Hodgson.

Rather than focusing on the familiar figure of Elizabeth I, students uncovered the fascinating stories of such as Melisende of Jerusalem, Shajar al-Durr, Licoricia of Wi******er, Margaret of Beverley, and the daughters of Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Their work revealed powerful examples of leadership, influence and resilience, bringing to light voices from history that are too often overlooked.

A brilliant celebration of student curiosity, collaboration and historical discovery.

We were delighted to welcome Fellows from Selwyn College, University of Cambridge, to Greenhead College as part of the Higher Education Extension (HEE) programme.

The Fellows delivered a series of engaging lectures to our A1 students, alongside students from other local sixth forms, designed to build academic confidence and encourage ambitious thinking about future study.

The HEE programme aims to support young people from across West Yorkshire by raising aspirations and highlighting pathways to Cambridge and other Russell Group universities.

Students especially valued the opportunity to ask questions and gain first hand insight into university life from leading academics. One student commented that they were “delighted to have talks delivered by exceptional leaders from Selwyn College.”
