Today we hosted our Business and Computing Employer Board in Landings 72!

Thank you to everyone who attended our successful event to discuss all things T Levels, apprenticeships, work placements, skills gaps and our curriculum offer.

Our next employer boards for Hair & Beauty and Hospitality are taking place on February 20 11am-1pm, April 24 11am- 1pm and June 12 11am-1pm.

Today we hosted our first Green and Future Skills Employers Forum event in partnership with West Yorkshire Combined Authority at our Brunel Construction Centre. We discussed future training needs and staffing requirements to meet the increased demand for green skills and sustainability.

NEW Employer Course - BPEC Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pumps Systems (Non-refrigerant Circuits)

This course is designed for qualified plumbers, heating, gas or oil engineers who wish to install Heat Pump Systems.

In the sessions, you will learn the requirements to size, select, install, commission and handover heat pump systems (non‐refrigerant circuits).

This week we hosted our Employer Engineering Board at our Engineering Centre.

We welcomed employers from Trillium Flow Technologies, A-Safe, Suez, Hystat Systems Ltd, Kent Introl and Westin Engineering to discuss shaping our apprenticeship offer in line with industry and company-specific requirements and expectations.

Last week Kirklees College hosted our Food and Drink Employer Event at the Process Manufacturing Centre.

It was fantastic to welcome some great employers to our Process Manufacturing Centre to talk all things Food and Drink Maintenance Engineering.

Employers included Arla, Haribo UK & Ireland, Hilton Process Solutions, Hovis and Premier Foods.

Attendees listened to presentations from the National Skills Academy and end-point assessment organisations FDQ Ltd and OAL.

Today we hosted our Food and Drink Employer Event at our Process Manufacturing Centre.

It was fantastic to welcome some great employers to our Process Manufacturing Centre to talk all things Food and Drink Maintenance Engineering over presentations, a tour, breakfast and lunch.

Thank you to Hovis apprentices Jamie and Matt and Premier Foods apprentice Lewis who gave us their perspective on apprenticeships at Kirklees College.

It was also great to hear from FDQ Ltd, OAL, and National Skills Academy for speaking to our guests.

We are delighted to be hosting our Food and Drink Employer Event at our Process Manufacturing Centre today.

We are excited to hear presentations from some of our current apprentices, National Skills Academy and end-point assessment organisations FDQ and OAL.

Our guests will be invited to discuss all things Food and Drink Maintenance Engineering over breakfast and lunch and be taken on a tour of our facilities.

On Monday 7 November, the NHS Health Informatics Service visited our Huddersfield Centre to present work placement opportunities to our Level 3 Year 2 Computing students.

After a successful day, we are now working together to arrange for five students to visit Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital for a week in December.

Earlier this week we were excited to support the Women in Business networking event at John Smith’s Stadium in partnership with Huddersfield Giants.

This event provided a platform to bring together professional women, entrepreneurs and small business owners to share their inspiring stories.

It was fantastic to hear from all of the guest speakers, including Diane Andrew; Liz Towns-Andrew’s, Dr Ella Russell and our very own, Tania Fares.
