Do you have a passion for supporting people’s voices? Do you want to help improve the lives of students in the Northern Isles? The Highlands and Students’ Association (HISA) wants to hear from you!
HISA represents students across the University of the Highlands and Islands, representing their views on their experiences, creating opportunities for community building, and providing vital services and help when they need it.
Our new Local Coordinator will support all this at our Shetland and Orkney campuses, in a varied and exciting role where no day will be the same. So you could be working with our elected Student Officers and course-level Student Voice Representatives to help them make change in the student experience, or you could be supporting our many student clubs and societies, helping students to organise events and campaigns, signposting students to the right kind of help, and working with a range of staff at the two campuses to support the student voice in decisions.
Based in Shetland, but with remote management of and occasional travel to Orkney, you’ll be part of a wider HISA team across UHI – using digital tools to build the students’ association’s work in an area the size of Belgium.
You’ll be a motivated, self-starting individual with an ability to motivate students, staff and the wider community, you’ll be a confident communicator, and you’ll be enthusiastic for the power of a diverse student community to build the best learning experience possible at UHI.
