UHI Inverness

UHI Inverness We are more than a college & more than a university, offering courses for more people, at more levels Where learning means more.

UHI Inverness has one of the widest ranging curricula in Scotland, we cater for over 8,500 local, national and international students who study either full-time or part-time. We welcome students of all abilities and from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and with 183 further education courses and 68 higher education courses, we're sure we have something to suit the needs of every individual.

All of our courses are certified, mostly through the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA); and each programme is made up of a grouping of units, which means that we can design you a programme which suits you. We’re more than a university and more than a college. We offer many more options to our students than any single college or university can. We want to build pride in UHI because being part of it means we are all much more than we are individually. Spanning some of the most stunning areas of Scotland, we are shaped by extraordinary landscapes and the seas that surround us. Where we learn helps to define us. You will find us among the mountains and forests and on islands. In historic towns and cities, hi-tech research parks, and state-of-the art learning environments. We bring together our collective expertise, uniting more than 30,000 students through our sense of place and purpose. More than most, we stand for diversity and opportunity. We offer more choice, more courses and more ways to learn. Our students can study at one of our campuses, world-class research centres, local learning centres, or online from wherever they want or need to be. We offer an outstanding experience, unlike anywhere else. UHI Inverness, where learning means more.

Studying the Contemporary Art Practices degree at UHI Inverness has opened up great opportunities for two students who exhibited their work at professional galleries.
Molly MacGregor was given the opportunity to exhibit her painting A Mother's Embrace in the Broadworks Gallery in Central London. The exhibition mainly displayed selected artworks throughout the country that drew inspiration from Frida Kahlo.
Shannon Discombe was one of four Scottish artists out of 148 whose work was displayed at the Royal Cambrian Academy Open Annual Exhibition in Conwy, Wales. Her monoprint piece Scaredy Cat was one of the first to sell before the opening of the show.

A huge congratulations to our eleven NPA Construction Operations students who graduated from the CECA Scotland Academy today and met with potential employers.
They all received certificates at a special ceremony at our Balloch campus to mark the end of an 18-week course that is a route into the industry. The students then met civil engineering employers as part of a recruitment process that guarantees them all interviews.
Past students have connected with future bosses at these events, and we wish this latest cohort the very best as they move onto employment or further study.
Well done too to one student who didn’t attend the event today because he has already secured employment and will be training with us as an electrical modern apprentice.
There’s still time to apply to join the CECA course at UHI Inverness after the summer. To find out more visit: https://www.inverness.uhi.ac.uk/courses/scqf-level-5-ceca-scotland-academy-npa-construction-operations/
