We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of recent University of Suffolk graduate Rhys Pangilinan, from our Royal Society of Biology-accredited BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences programme.

Rhys was awarded the Top Project Award by the Royal Society of Biology at the Society’s Accreditation Awards ceremony held at the House of Commons, Parliament, last week on 23 April.

His award-winning research project, “Impact of muscle mass on lipid oxidation suppression by a defined amount of carbohydrates”, demonstrated exceptional scientific enquiry and academic excellence.

Rhys attended the ceremony alongside his Course Leader, Catia Marques, and Project Supervisor, Dr Fandi Ibrahim, who were proud to support and celebrate this remarkable accomplishment.

This achievement highlights the high-quality research opportunities available within our Biological Sciences programme and reflects the dedication of both our students and academic staff.

Congratulations, Rhys — we look forward to seeing what you achieve next!"
