St Joseph’s College feels different. We are very proud of the special ethos at St Joseph’s, an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 2 to 18, which combines strong Christian values with a unique approach to supporting and nurturing children within a family environment. We challenge all of our students to ‘be their best’ in every aspect of College life and set high standards f

or everyone in our community. Parents, pupils and staff work together to ensure that we produce confident pupils without arrogance, team players who will stand up for what is right and compassionate, caring members of society. You are warmly invited to visit us at our beautiful 60 acre campus in Ipswich to discover for yourself what makes St Joseph’s feel so different.

Together, our school community has raised an incredible £11,929 through all our Giving Day activities.

Our students and staff also really enjoyed helping the Thomas Franks Foundation in the giving of 1,500 meals to the local community.

A huge thank you to those who donated, our families and staff, and everyone who supported us along the way - we couldn't have done it without you all.

Old Birkfeldian Justin Cao, who left St Jo’s in 2023 with straight As in Mathematics, Further Maths and Physics visited us with his younger sister, who hopes to study at St Joseph’s College. Justin is about to graduate with a top degree in Electronic Engineering from Kings College and is hoping to go on to a master’s degree, either at Imperial College or in California. He was surprised but thrilled to see three of his younger friends from Boarding, Josh, Billy and Luping, who complete their studies here in the next month and it demonstrated what a super community they have in Boarding at St Joseph’s where older students genuinely support and care for their younger colleagues.

We are national champions!
Our senior debaters, Ademide, Alex, Josh and reserve speaker Ben, surged to victory in the grand final of the English-Speaking Union's Mace Competition.

It is a huge achievement to be winners in a field of 375 schools. Our students were praised for timing, humour and linguistic tricks. There was also high praise to our teachers who have played an enormous role in creating debaters of national winning standard.

Years 3 and 4 went on an adventure as they stepped into the rainforest for a fully immersive day of all things tropical. They took part in a carousel of activities, including bracelet making, mask decorating, and live meets with rainforest creatures. There were some tasty fairtrade treats to conclude the expedition. The children were able to put their humanities topic into context and although a trip to the Amazon Rainforest wouldn't have passed the risk assessment, this was the next best thing!
