Our student mentors are here to welcome you to Suffolk and provide information and guidance on how to make the most of your time here at the University. Together, we will share our experiences of starting university, explore the Ipswich campus and town centre, and talk through the typical things yo
u’ll benefit from knowing as a student. We will also run activities that will help you meet new people and gain some advice on being a student at Suffolk. If you wish to join, please read the following:
The group is for anyone joining or enrolled at the University of Suffolk to chat to each other and the Suffolk Life Mentors. Student Mentors are students on this course (or a similar course) who are fully trained and have volunteered to support new students through their 1st year. Please bear in mind that this group, is monitored by the Suffolk Life Mentors and Student Services, and may also be accessed by academic staff and other staff from the University of Suffolk. This group is NOT for:
-Student Rep feedback
-Event adverts not directly related to the Suffolk Life Mentor Scheme
-Political use
-Excessive posting of surveys, events, or anything else that has the effect of reducing the use of these groups by current students
-Anything that may be perceived as offensive
These posts may be deleted, and in extreme cases you may be removed from the group. This is so that the groups can be used freely by all and in the spirit of the Suffolk Life Mentor Scheme - inclusive, supportive and friendly. For current students at the University of Suffolk, you should note that as a student of the University your actions on this page remain subject to the regulations and policies of the University.
