A Month of Biodiversity at Tresham College ๐๐ฟ
This May, Tresham College came together across our Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough campuses to celebrate a Centenary of Biodiversity in honour of David Attenborough, marking his 100th birthday earlier this month
This was a truly collaborative effort, bringing together students and staff from across all curriculum areas to create a meaningful legacy for the future.
A highlight of the celebrations was the creation of time capsules at each campus, filled with contributions from departments across the College. A special congratulations to engineering student Noah Martin, whose winning design for the capsule plates is now featured across all three sites ๐
Throughout the month, students took part in a wide range of activities, including:
๐ฑ Growing vegetables and exploring sustainability within the community
๐ Creating 3D printed, bee-themed self-watering pots
๐ป Planting sunflower โwishes for the futureโ
๐ Writing letters and birthday cards to Sir David Attenborough
๐ธ Making seed bombs to support rewilding efforts
๐ง Taking part in biodiversity quizzes and creative activities
At our Kettering campus, students also enjoyed an interactive experience with local entomologist Suzie Askew, getting hands-on with insects and learning more about biodiversity in action.
This month has been a fantastic opportunity to connect our campuses, celebrate our communities and inspire students to think about their role in protecting the natural world.
A huge thank you to everyone involved!!
