Rehearsals have begun for our February show, Evita — but more voices are needed to bring this tale of triumph and sorrow to life.

Rural and Islands Bursary Fund

Calling all students who live in a rural or island location! The Rural and Islands Bursary Fund offers students the opportunity to apply for up to £1,000 to support their studies. The deadline to apply is Thursday 31 October 2024: bit.ly/3Xwr4L6

Students can apply for this bursary to help them in activities they otherwise be unable to participate in:

➕ Travel to attend conferences

➕ Work placements or field studies

➕ Equipment, books or other study materials

➕ Support for unexpected financial circumstances which might affect a student’s ability to focus and achieve their potential

Thanks to the generosity of the Charitable Trust, this fund will support at least 10 students from rural and isolated communities in the .

Come and chat to us about studying art and design at UHI Orkney at the careers fair 👇

We are delighted to confirm that the third Orkney Careers Fair will be held in the Arena of the Pickaquoy Centre, Kirkwall on Wednesday 2 October 2024, from 9.30am-6pm.

Along with our partners at Skills Development Scotland, we will be welcoming over 60 exhibitors, including employers, universities and colleges, training providers and employability support services. They will be on hand to discuss career opportunities, vocational and academic pathways and the support that individuals can access to help them take the next step on their career journey.

This FREE event will be open to school pupils, parents, teachers and the general public.

Pupils at local secondary and junior high schools will be taken along to the event, but we would also welcome parents and guardians to come along to learn more about the opportunities and support that is available for their child.

Whether you are just starting on your career journey and considering your options, looking to return to work after a career break or considering a career change, come along and learn more about what opportunities exist for you in Orkney and further afield.

Careers Advisers from SDS will also be at the event to give impartial, one-to-one advice on options and opportunities including employment, training, apprenticeships and volunteering.
