🤝💙 International Day of Friendship | 30 July 🌍

Today we celebrate International Day of Friendship - a reminder that friendship has no borders, and that kindness, respect and connection can bridge every difference.

We’re especially proud of the friendships that grow between our visiting international students and our UK-based learners. These connections enrich everyone’s experience - sharing languages, traditions, food, and laughter - and showing how learning together creates understanding that lasts far beyond the classroom.

Here’s to every friendship made at WCG - across campuses, cultures and countries.

What an incredible week! 🌟

On Monday, just over 700 staff members from across all WCG campuses came together at Moreton Morrell College for our annual WCG Staff Conference 2026.

True to this year’s theme - "One Group. One Community. One IMPACT." - the campus was buzzing with energy, collaboration, and shared purpose.

Here are a few highlights from a fantastic day:

🏆 Celebrating Excellence: We kicked off the morning with our CEO and Principal, Sara-Jane, who reflected on our collective achievements and presented our well-deserved staff awards.

💡 Learning & Innovation: From critical updates on SEND reforms and curriculum intent to exploring AI in Education and a packed panel discussion on "A World Without Cows", our minds were working overtime.

🔨 Hands-On Experiences & Creativity: Staff got stuck into unique "Have-a-Go" sessions like tractor driving, floristry, and boot-jack building, while others took time to unwind on the lawn for The Great Campus Open Sketch competition.

🤝 Connecting the Collective: The Teaching and Learning Marketplace was alive with ideas, providing practical resources to help us drive a meaningful impact for the 2026/27 academic year.

We truly are one group and one community, and we are ready to make a huge impact this upcoming academic year!

25th June 2026 saw the opening night of the largest combined exhibition and fashion show for the School of Creative Arts.
8 Studios, 7 courses, 10 year groups and a lot of hard work went into the End of Year Exhibition

We are open for public viewing from Monday 29th June to Thursday 2nd July 10:00-4pm with limited viewing Friday 3rd (exhibits collection day so please be aware some exhibits will be collected by students Friday 3rd)

To access the exhibition please attend main reception who will issue you a visitor pass

Well done to the entire School of Creative Arts for a truly stunning exhibition and a remarkable Fashion Show.

🏳️‍🌈💖 Pride Month | June 2026 🌈

This June, WCG proudly celebrates Pride Month - a time to honour the history, achievements and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community, and to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to equality, inclusion and respect for all.

Pride is more than a celebration - it’s a reminder that everyone deserves to feel safe, seen and supported in being their authentic self. At WCG, we’re proud to create an environment where students and staff can learn, work and thrive without fear or prejudice.

To all our LGBTQ+ students, staff and allies - thank you for your courage, your visibility and your voice. You inspire us to stand together for equality, every day of the year.

Here is a very quick sneak peek of some of the fantastic work being prepared for exhibition from across the RLS School of Creative Arts.
We're keeping the full pictures under wraps because we'd love for you to join us at the Fusion Fest on Thursday 25th June from 4:00-9:00pm! (with a dedicated quiet hour 8-9pm) to see the exceptional work in person.

The Fusion Fest is a huge campus community event taking place at the Royal Leamington Spa Campus
Tickets are required to attend but tickets for local residents, families and students are FREE!!

The event will feature activities across the campus including virtual reality experiences, people-inspired Cluedo and fingerprint analysis in the lab, hand massages, nail art & manicures and challenges and games from various curriculum areas including Plumbing, Health and Social care and ESports.
There will be a makers market and food stalls and not forgetting the School of Creative Media exhibition & Showcase and the School of Creative Arts Summer Exhibition and Fashion Show

👂💙 Deaf Awareness Week | 4–10 May 🤟

This week we’re proud to support Deaf Awareness Week - a time to celebrate the hearing impaired community, raise awareness, and promote understanding of hearing loss and communication access.

At WCG, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to making learning accessible for all - through British Sign Language (BSL) support, captioning, clear communication, and understanding the diverse experiences of our hearing impaired students and staff.

Deaf Awareness Week reminds us that communication is more than just words - it’s connection, patience, and respect. Small changes, like facing someone when speaking or learning a few BSL signs, can make a big difference.

To our hearing impaired students, staff, and interpreters - thank you for enriching our college community with your resilience, insight, and advocacy. You inspire us to listen more deeply and include more fully every day.

Let’s continue to build a world where everyone is heard, understood, and included.

Today we celebrate Earth Day - a global reminder that caring for our planet begins with the actions we take each day.

At WCG, we’re passionate about sustainability and protecting the environment for future generations. From our agriculture and horticulture courses to engineering, construction, and animal welfare, sustainability runs through everything we teach and do.

Our students and staff are making a real difference - planting trees, reducing waste, supporting biodiversity, developing green technologies, and finding new ways to live and work more sustainably.

Education plays a vital role in tackling climate change - by equipping learners with the knowledge and skills to create innovative, environmentally conscious solutions across every sector.

Let’s continue to protect, restore, and cherish the planet we call home - together.
