The page of the award winning Faculty of Biological Sciences Society at Leeds! The Faculty of Biological Sciences Society (FoBSoc) is for all students of the Faculty of Biological Sciences and those with an interest in Biological Sciences as well! Whether you are an undergrad, postgrad or member of staff, then this society is for you. We are the 4th largest society in the Union; we bring

everyone within the faculty together from Medical Science to Zoology! The society caters for a wide range of events, including socials, sports and education. We are planning a wide range of social events including: GIAG sessions, trips to other cities, themed Otley Runs, pub quizzes, Garstang Socials and the famous annual Leed's Sciences Ball which you will not want to miss! Sports:
FoBSoc currently have existing teams that continue to improve and expand each year, including teams in football, rugby, netball and hockey. Education:
We have previously held educational events with TeachFirst that have focused on CV and Interview Skills, and have plans for these events and more, including a Peer Mentor/Mentee scheme, access to medicine talks, a postgraduate support scheme, industry/year abroad talks and networking evenings and the chance to learn more about blood and bone marrow donations. We will really expand you knowledge and give you the chance to give back in this society too while having fun! Membership:

Hello you lovely lot!

It’s that time of year again, where we are doing our annual Christmas otley run with 🎄

We will be meeting at Woodies at 1pm on Saturday 7th December and our theme is as follows:

Freshers - animals (doesn’t have to be biblically accurate)🫏

Returners - wisemen, innkeepers, stars, angels etc (the more ridiculous the better)👑

Hey everyone!

After a week off, hopefully you are ready for our next social - Sports Day Pub Golf! ⛳️

We will be starting at the original oak at 8:30pm, and doing a series of challenges challenges (drinking and non-drinking) at a few pubs along the way, before finishing the night at Fruitys🕺

Teams will be posted shortly, and the winning team will get a £100 bar tab in Terrace🍻

We’re excited to announce that we are going to Amsterdam next Easter 🌷

This is a great way to meet other members of the society and it’s definitely something you don’t want to miss out on!

Deposits to reserve your place are only £159 with flights, accommodation, foreign airport transfers, trip leaders and a bar crawl all included! 🍻

Tickets can be accessed by a link we’ll be posting soon! They’re on a first-come-first-served basis and there are a limited number so be sure to grab yours first to avoid disappointment!

Hopefully you’ve recovered from halloween and are ready for our next social. This week, we’re gonna be joined with Neuroscience Society 🧠

We’re gonna start off the evening at 9:30pm at the Terrace Bar in the Union, then we’ll head to the spoons in the city, finishing off the night at Old Red Bus 🚌

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us yesterday for Tote bag painting, we hope you all found it as therapeutic as we did! 🖌️

Your designs all looked amazing, we obviously have some very creative people within the society!

There is no social next week but we do have something planned for halloween week to keep an eye on this space for more information about that 👻

This week we have decided to put down our pint glasses and pick up our paint brushes. 🖌️

This is our first sober social of the year and is a great opportunity to get to know each other a little more (and remember it all the next day 🫣)

We will kick things off at 9pm at the Terrace Bar in the Union 🍷We’ll then make our way to the Spoons in Millennium Square (The Cutherbert Brodrick) 🍺 Before finally finding ourselves at Bobby’s Disco to dance the rest of the night away🕺 (discounted tickets may be available for anyone who has bought their membership 👀)
