Our level 6 Performance students will be performing 'Market Boy' in The Bramall Rock Void at Leeds Playhouse next week. We welcome you to come join us for this free performance.

13- year old Boy learns all about love, masculinity and Thatcher’s “Free Market” from the duckers, divers and dealers on the stalls of Kirkgate. A new, one-act adaptation of Eldridge’s 80’s play explores politics, poverty and prosperity with non-traditional casting.

Adapted by director, Aimee Shields, David Eldridge's Market Boy now finds itself set in Kirkgate Market, Leeds.

Today marks the first day of Black History Month - this year's theme is 'Proud to be'. This month is intended to recognise the contribution and achievements of those with African or Caribbean heritage. It's also an opportunity for people to learn more about the effects of racism and how to challenge negative stereotypes.

Meet the Dance team - Dawn Holgate 💃✨

Dawn is the Course Leader for the Foundation Dance Degree, she is an avid community dance practitioner in Leeds and across the East Riding of Yorkshire, where she currently coordinates 11 youth dance groups and is the Artistic Director of the East Riding Youth Dance County Company.

Dawn’s research interest lies primarily in choreography and facilitating the choreographic process with cross sector collaborations. Her interests lie in themes associated with cultural and personal identity and community dance.

Meet the Dance team - Tyler Morrell 🧨💥

With years of intense training, Tyler is a multi skilled dancer specialising in styles such as Hip Hop, Commercial, Voguing, Waacking, Afro Beats, Dancehall, House and Contemporary. Tyler has competed in numerous competitions nationally and has choreographed and directed multiple performances and concept videos which have been performed a UK’s biggest stages such as Move It! Tyler has trained with some of the industry’s leading international professionals from Los Angeles and New York where he keeps his training sharp and knowledge up to date.
