Sustainable Garden - Autumn Update! 🍂🧡

We've been harvesting the last of the garden's seasonal veggies, including: leeks, broccoli, celery, bulb fennel, chard, chickweed, nettle tops and winter salads 🥗

Other activities in October & November have included:
1. Replanting the willow arch and weaving in some new branches. 🪴
2. Sweeping up autumn leaves from footpaths around campus, and using them to mulch our fruit bushes, putting fresh woodchip on the paths and tidying the garden. 🪵
3. Sowing microgreens for volunteers to take home 🌱

That's it for campus gardening sessions this calendar year, we will be back in February!

Last week, our wonderful student ambassadors spoke to students in LUU about how the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are linked to their courses, as well as dissertation ideas, opportunities to access resources and our Sustainability Research Conference to develop and share their sustainability research projects. 📝

Additionally, a *brand new sustainability data collection* has recently been added to the library, for all students to use in dissertations or research projects! The data collection can be found through the link in our bio! ✨

How do you think you could link your current research projects/dissertation to sustainability? Let us know in the comments! 💬

Oh no! The Bike Hub has just closed and you need to fix your bike, what can you do??🤔

Luckily, we have a series of Bike Maintenance points on campus, where you can complete basic maintenance tasks yourself. Come along with us as we visit all 5 points on campus (with a quick sustainable hot drink stop on the way) and fix up our bike that we hired from the Bike Hub! 🔧 🚲

Unsure of how to make repairs yourself? Not to worry! The Bike Hub will be open again from 10am-4pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, where you can learn how to maintain and repair your bike, then use the maintenance points in the future! 📆
