The International Centre for Sports History and Culture was established at De Montfort University in 1996 and is today widely acknowledged as the leading centre for the study of sport history in the world. 'The latest cohort of FIFA Master's students enrol on Europe's top postgraduate sports management course'.

Students from as far as Australia, Japan, Morocco, Canada and Uzbekistan have travelled to De Montfort University (DMU) Leicester to start studying on the renowned FIFA Master’s course.

Regarded as one of the best sports management courses in the world, the one-year programme sees students spend a term at DMU’s International Centre for Sports History and Culture (ICSHC) before moving on to complete their studies at both the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan, Italy, and Switzerland’s University of Neuchâtel.

The course, which is co-ordinated by the Centre International d’Etude du Sport (CIES) was last month named as Europe’s top ranked postgraduate sports management course by SportBusiness for the 14th time. The course was also ranked by the same organisation as the second-best sports management course in the world.

Yesterday is always a special day in the calendar, as we began the start of a new academic year with the arrival of The FIFA Master 27th Edition class for their Induction sessions with us here at the International Centre for Sports History and Culture, De Montfort University Leicester (DMU).

The class this year has travelled from around the world and includes students from Tunisia, USA, Jordan, Brazil, France, Germany, Australia, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Canada, Japan, Portugal, Maldives, India, Argentina and Italy. It is great to welcome everyone to Leicester!

'FIFA Master awards success continues with new No.1 in Europe and No.2 in the world rankings'.

The FIFA Master has maintained its position as the leading postgraduate sport management course in Europe with a record-breaking 14th No.1 award in the new 2026 SportBusiness rankings. In addition, the course has been named as No.2 in the world.

The course is organised by the CIES - International Centre for Sports Studies, Switzerland, in cooperation with the International Centre for Sports History and Culture here at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU), SDA Bocconi School of Management in Italy and the Sports Law Faculty at the Université de Neuchâtel in Switzerland.
