Fantastic to have our own students holding us to account for our work on Education for Sustainable Development through Response Futures. De Montfort Students' Union De Montfort University Leicester (DMU)

Nine fantastic students from De Montfort University recently led the Universityโ€™s fourth Responsible Futures audit on how far sustainability is embedded in learning and to provide recommendations.

Responsible Futures is a supported change programme and accreditation to embed sustainability in learning in partnership with students and through a whole-institution approach. Responsible Futures enables students to play a leadership role in ensuring sustainability is integrated at every level of their curriculum.

Taking place at DMUโ€™s iconic SDG Hub on 18 and 19 March, students from different disciplines conducted interviews of DMU and DMU Studentsโ€™ Union staff and audited how far DMU has embedded holistic sustainability in its curricula, extra-curricula activities, and campus operations.

See what some of the students had to say about the experience:

โ€œIt was refreshing to discover the vast number of initiatives that DMU has rolled out in terms of Education for Sustainable Development.โ€

โ€œThis experience has strengthened my attention to detail and interviewing skills, offering valuable intersectional insights into sustainability and social justice initiatives.โ€

โ€œI believe this opportunity will be highly beneficial in pursuing a career in sustainability.โ€
