The Centre for Landscape and Climate Research undertakes interdisciplinary research into the interactions of the changing water cycle with landscapes across multiple spatial and temporal scales.

Call for Expressions of Interest in Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2021

The Centre for Landscape and Climate Research is inviting expressions of interest from eligible candidates who are interested in developing an application for funding for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship call 2021 [MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2021].
Please agree your project idea with a suitable supervisor from the University of Leicester before submitting your application form. We can advise you on possible supervisors in your chosen research area.

Submit your Expression of Interest by downloading the Word Application Form to take part in the Postdoctoral Fellowship Writing Retreat by the University of Leicester no later than 5th September 2021.

Selected candidates will be notified by 10th September via email. The Writing Retreat will be held by video meeting and comprise of sessions delivered by Marie Curie and research development experts, and grant holders. It will also include free time for the fellows and supervisors to meet independently. Mentoring support from the supervisor is available during the development stage of the proposals of selected applicants. Full proposals have to be submitted by 12 October 2021 17:00:00 Brussels time (16:00:00 London time).

University of Leicester celebrates top 3% global sustainability ranking:

The University of Leicester is celebrating global sustainability success on Earth Day after being ranked 21st out of 766 universities in the world, in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking, placing it in the top 3%.

As part of the ranking For Goal 15, Life on Land, the University is first in the world for using its academic excellence to shape its commitment to conserving the biodiversity of the local land and buildings as part of its Biodiversity Action Plan, by protecting natural habitats and encouraging wildlife.

The team from the Centre for Landscape and Climate Research with other members of the Landscape Decisions Programme that we are now coordinating. A £10.5 million research programme funded by UK Research and Innovation over 4 years. CLCR has been awarded the Programme Coordination Team for the Landscape Decisions strategic programme by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)

A multi-disciplinary programme coordination team at the University of Leicester has been appointed for the UKRI Strategic Priorities Fund programme 'Landscape Decisions: Toward a new framework for using land assets'.

The four-year £10·5 million programme will address the challenge of delivering better, evidence-based decisions within UK landscapes through research collaboration with policy, business and land management partners to deliver an interdisciplinary decision-making framework to inform how land is used.
