When Samson started at Leicester College, he had one clear ambition: to become a chef.

From gaining his first industry experience during his Food and Hospitality course, to working at The Savoy in London, Samson has built an impressive career in hospitality.

Today, he’s back in Leicester and is the proud owner of two restaurants- Heritage Café and Golden Sands, employing almost 40 people and inspiring the next generation of hospitality professionals.

His advice to future chefs? “Just stick to it.”

When Danielle Nichol studied Applied Science at Leicester College, she planned to become a mental health nurse. Ten years later, she’s built a successful career in recruitment and is now a Recruitment Manager at Morgan Hunt.

After exploring different roles, Danielle discovered a career that allows her to support people while working in the further education and university sectors.

Recently, she returned to Leicester College to share her journey with students and encourage them to stay open-minded about their future.

From Leicester to the Strictly ballroom! ✨

We're proud to celebrate Leicester College alumnus Chris Appleton, who recently took to the dancefloor on Strictly Come Dancing. Born and trained in Leicester, Chris began his journey through an apprenticeship with George's Salon and has gone on to become one of the world's most recognised celebrity hairstylists.

While his Strictly journey may have come to an end, what an achievement it has been. We're proud to see our alumni continuing to shine on some of the biggest stages. 🌟

When Darrell joined Leicester College, he had his sights set on Accounting. But after discovering he didn’t have the GCSEs needed, he found a new route forward through our Launch Pad programme.

The programme helped Darrell build his confidence, develop essential skills and explore different career options- ultimately discovering a passion for IT.

He has since progressed onto Level 2 IT and secured a place on the Level 3 programme, continuing to work towards his career goals.
