Happy 100th Birthday Sir David Attenborough!

Sir David spent much of his childhood living in Leicester and for decades he's been one of the most powerful voices for our planet inspiring millions to see the world differently and take our responsibility to it seriously.

As the UK's only global hub chair for the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 11, DMU is proud to carry that same passion for environmental responsibility, education, and real, positive change.

Sir David visited Leicester Polytechnic, now DMU, in 1987 (when these pictures were taken.) Nearly four decades later, his influence continues to shape learning and inspire action across our university community.

University is about so much more than learning, it's the friendships you make, the community you build and the memories that stay with you long after graduation.

This week, DMU's sports societies celebrated their year at the DMU Sports Awards, and what a year it has been.

Friendships built through early morning training sessions. Leadership shaped on match days. A community that shows up for each other, week in, week out.

Thank you to Joe Heyes and Joaquin Moro from Leicester Tigers for joining us to celebrate our students and present on the night. Your presence meant a great deal.

And to our incredible students, you are the reason we do this. Every early start, every training session, every moment of effort brought you here tonight. We couldn't be prouder.
